There are a few questions I get that occur often enough to qualify as FAQs. You may find answers to other questions on the Info or Tools pages.
- How often are your pages updated?
- That depends a great deal on the page! Some, by nature, don't change very often. For others, especially the V-Lib and Beer Ads, I receive updates daily. Normally, I don't sit down every day and do updates. I do have to set aside some time for "research" ;) Let me put it this way: At worst, I won't get to them until the week-end, so once a week is a good bet.
- How much do you charge for links?
- Nothing! Nada! Zip! Zero! Can you say "free"? Links to beer resources are placed in the appropriate categories for no charge. Reciprocal links are always appreciated, but not required.
- Do you have a logo to use with a link?
- Yes. If you wish to link to the Beer Info Source with a graphic image, please use this one found at the bottom of every page. It's small and looks good on a wide variety of displays.
- Will you place a link to my [cigar/darts/bartender/sports] page?
- No. The Beer Info source is about beer, and beer only. I know there are a lot of things that go naturally with beer, but if your page doesn't involve beer in some significant way, I won't list it. Sometimes, I get URLs for top-level links that are not beer-related, but there is a beer page buried farther down. In these cases, I link to the URL of the beer page and not the top-level URL. Not strictly kosher, I know, but I'd rather have the links break than have them leading off into non-beer land.

- How come there are so many broken links in the Virtual Library?
- Well, that's the trick isn't it, keeping up with URL changes and deletions. With over 1,000 links to maintain, it's a pretty daunting task. What I'm attempting to do is run WebAnalyzer on the various sections at least once every 30 days. Any links still broken after 2 consecutive passes will be deleted. Hopefully, this will bring the overall number of broken links down.
- Do you sell ad space on The Beer Info Source?
- No. Right now The Beer Info Source is completely non-commercial. This may change in the future as things progress, but I have no time-table in mind for that project.
- Why isn't [brewery/pub/store/whatever] listed?
- I get this most often from folks who don't realize that the V-Lib is a listing of beer resources with Web pages. If you know the [brewery/pub/store/whatever] has a Web page, mail that sucker in.
- Do you publish ratings for different beers?
- Sort of. I keep an informal list of my evaluation of the beers I've tried over the past 10 years or so. However, I keep it as part of my personal home page.
- Where can I fax/mail stuff to The Beer Info Source?
- You can get a postal address as well as a fax number at the bottom of my personal home page or by fingering my account at Mindspring.
