Seed Free & Joy brewed by 16 Mile Brewery in Georgetown, DE

Seed-free & Joy Watermelon Ale brewed by 16 Mile Brewery - Georgetown, Delaware

16 Mile Brewing's Brewmaster Claus Hagelman has made a bunch of cool beers, but this beer might be the coolest and most refreshing. His new beer called Seed-free & Joy is made from fresh watermelon and a little cucumbers. It is a session ale at 4.5% that drinks like eating a fresh watermelon. It is draft only and comes out this week in Delaware and NYC.  This beer is part of series called Off The Grid where 16 Mile Brewing does a limited release cool brew but line prices it with their core beers so accounts can rotate them in and charge the same $5 pint pour.

The Brewery

Located just one mile south of The Circle in historic Georgetown, the 16 Mile Brewing Company is located in a large open field. The building, which dates back to the early 1900's, retains much of its original agricultural charm. We are about to construct an addition to the brewery which will double its size and production capability.

The brewing facility was designed to be as compact and energy-efficient as possible. After extensive research, 16 Mile chose Newlands Systems Incorporated (Abbottsford, B.C.) to engineer and construct a 15BBL brew house to fit the existing structure. This system incorporates a low pressure, high-efficiency steam boiler to limit energy usage.
