We love this time of year: all day bike rides, getting elbow deep in our garden, the occasional warm-cool shiver of a jacketless twilight dinner on the deck (great friends, yummies on the grill, Venus ablaze over the Rampart’s indigo silhouette), outdoor music festivals, camping, hiking, horseshoes, golf... How do we love thee, Summer? Let us count the ways.
Maybe it’s just us, but all these activities seem to scream for a beer. Hmmm, but what to drink, what to drink? As usual, Bristol’s got your back. This Friday, July 20th, we’re doing our first-ever double beer release. We’ll be tapping our Edge City Wit Bier and our Edge City Summer Kolsch. Both of them are perfect for our warmer weather.
The Wit is brewed in the traditional style, born centuries ago in the farmhouses and villages of rural Belgium. Made with flaked red wheat, flaked oats, acidulated malt and pilsen barley and blissed out with coriander and sweet orange peel, it’s a summer favorite of both the staff and tasting room regulars. (Tastes especially nice with a slice of orange, so request it that way if you see it at your favorite restaurant.)
And the Edge City Summer Kolsch? As Tad, our Not-Just-a-Maintenance-Guy Maintenance Guy, says, it’s “pilsner with an ale-titude”. A pilsner malt bill and an ale yeast give it a light body with a craft brew character. A perfect après-bike brew.
We’ll begin pouring these beauties at 5:00 pm. Come on by and enjoy Food By Diane while you’re here stocking up your beer fridge.
Cheers,
