Hop Valley Brewing Co. opened to rave reviews in the Gateway area of Springfield in February 2009. The name and location were chosen because of Lane County's extensive ties to the agricultural background of Hops. April 30th will kick off a four day Grand Opening Celebration. The festivities will include daily specials in addition to fun events that will take place all weekend long. Springfield has been a welcoming town and based on local resident's reactions, we anticipate tremendous community support.
Thursday's festivities will start with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Springfield Mayor Sid Leiken at 3 pm. A neighborhood Bayou boil consisting of fresh Dungeness crab, shrimp and crawfish will be prepared on the outdoor patio using Hop Valley brews.
Friday will include a specialized menu that features food and beer pairings from Chef David Lucht and his team. Raffles will be held all day with Hop Valley Merchandise being awarded every half hour. Complimentary hor d'oeuvres will be served at the door after 5 pm.
Saturday will offer brewery tours from 11am -4 pm by locally renowned Brewmaster Trevor Howard. This will provide the public an opportunity to meet the brewer and discuss the brewing process.
Sunday will wrap up the event with an outdoor Barbecue that will include Burgers and Bratwurst. Join us on the patio and watch your food move from the smoker to the grill.
Hop Valley is proud to bring a new restaurant and brewery to Springfield and look forward to serving the community. Hop Valley Brewing Co. caters to the "Beer Geek," but also the business traveler and families that are out to enjoy great food and drink in a comfortable, fun atmosphere. Our food and beer is prepared using local, sustainable and organic products whenever possible, based on seasonality and availability.
