Deschutes Brewery & Public House

Deschutes Brewery is in the business of daring people to expect more from their beer. That's why we started off in 1988, on the banks of the Deschutes River here in Bend, Oregon, by selling Black Butte Porter at a time when others were sure a dark beer would never catch on. Our brewers love to push the envelope, especially if it makes someone nervous. But for us, the highest praise is a raised glass and a toast of "Bravely Done!"

What makes Deschutes Brewery so unique?
Consumer Connection
For the last 21+ years, Deschutes has been devoted to truly understanding its customers and keeping them in the loop. From informal feedback from pub patrons happy to test out pub-exclusive beers to formal market research, this Oregon brewery has spent time discovering what its core consumer expects – and then delivers on those expectations. Social media keeps them in touch.

Deschutes designed its Bend and Portland pubs with a model in mind: the classic English pub atmosphere. Here, with pint in hand, business leaders sit elbow-to-elbow with blue collar workers and discuss the matters of the day or tomorrow’s big game. In the Bend pub, 21 beers are on tap, including experimental brews and in the Portland pub there are 19 beers on tap
