California Spring Beer brewed by Hanger 24 Craft Brewery in Redlands,
Spring! A time of
renewal. Renew your taste buds with our “California style” Spring Beer, a
unique fusion of a hoppy wheat beer brewed with a blended fermentation of
Belgian and American yeast. Pours a hazy gold with a thick, white head.
Floral hop aromas abound, complemented by the taste of tangy wheat and spicy
Belgian yeast notes with a bitter, slightly sweet, bready finish. ABV: 5.2%.
IBU: 20. Serving Temperature: 45º fahrenheit.
Beer Review from Beer Advocate
This was my second pint of the afternoon at Tony's Darts Away. With 40 beers to
choose from, I gravitated to this one described on the menu as a "hoppy wheat
beer". I have just such a creature resting in my carboy and I was interested in
trying a commercial version.
Pale orange in appearance, there is a hazy quality typical of hefes. A half inch
of just off-white foam that sticks around for most of the pint.
The nose has a citrus hop note that is not overly fragrant. There also isn't any
clove or banana scented esters.
There is a nice, medium bodied mouth feel. Hops speak, but not too loud. Malt is
there, too. The tastes that yeast bring to the beer are subtle, nearly neutral.
This clearly isn't trying to be anything other than what it is; a perfect
beverage for a sunny spring afternoon. This is a well crafted beer.
About Hanger 24 Craft Brewery
Hanger 24 Craft Brewery began with a true passion for good beer, the absolute
love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends. Founder and
Master Brewer Ben Cook and his buddies used to meet at hangar 24 after an
afternoon of flying to trade stories, talk aviation, play music and share a few
cold ones that Ben just finished brewing at home. These days, the location of
where these fine beers are brewed has changed, but the quality time spent
enjoying a delicious, handcrafted beer and conversation with friends is the same
as ever. Cheers.
