Happy 46th Anniversary Bull and Bush Brewery

Bull & Bush Brewery, Happy 46th Anniversary by Morgan Forsyth, Craft Beer Promoter

2017 marks another notable anniversary for Bull & Bush Brewery. Located just down Colorado Boulevard from Glendale, the iconic brewpub is celebrating its 46th anniversary this Saturday, August 5. The legacy of Bull & Bush started in 1971 by twin brothers Dean and Dale Peterson. It has since been passed down a generation to Dale’s sons David and Erik, who have continued the legacy by creating major expansions to the business. Since brewing their first batch of beer on New Year’s Day of 1997, Master Brewer Gabe Moline has become world renowned for his innovative creations. The two sons, David and Erik, have maintained the longevity of the business while keeping it relevant in today’s booming industry.

For this years anniversary celebration, Bull & Bush is releasing their 46th Anniversary Caffe Corretto Stout. Traditionally, a caffe corretto is a shot of espresso with a shot of grappa or sambuca on the side. This anniversary beer is an imperial stout aged in brandy and french oak syrah barrels, with espresso added post barrel aging. The beer is dedicated to their dad and uncle, who started the legacy of Bull & Bush. The Caffe Coretto Stout will be available in bottles, along with a limited amount on tap.

Along with releasing their own beer for the party, David and Erik will also be digging deep into their BarChive of kegs to pull out some rare and vintage beers to share. One of their guest beers they will be tapping for the party is a 30L wooden gravity cask of Aventinus 2009. Aventinus was introduced in 1907 and is the oldest Bavarian Wheat-Doppelbock. Another rare beer Bull & Bush will be tapping next Saturday is the OEC Tempus #8. This beer is a blend of 30% young Tempus, lagered for at least 3 months in wine barrels blended with 15% 18 month old lambic style ale & 55% 18 month old saison aged in red & white wine barrels.

For the music aspect (because what would a Bull & Bush anniversary party be without some killer tunes) The Samples will be performing for their sixth consecutive year at the Bull & Bush Anniversary Party, starting at 9 PM on the evening on August 5.

With fresh beer, great music, camaraderie and friendship - the tradition of the Bull & Bush is a legend that will surely carry on for generations to come!
