Dogfish Raises $10,000(Sept. 26) - Delaware - The 2007 Dogfish Dash raised $10,000 for the Delaware chapter of The Nature Conservancy. More than 400 runners participated in the second-year 5K/10K road race on Sunday, September 23, 2007 in downtown Rehoboth Beach, DE. Website

German priest serving beer at Munich's Oktoberfest(Sept. 25) - Germany - Among the beefy men serving up the beer at Munich's Oktoberfest is a Catholic priest, Munich's Sueddeutsche newspaper reported Tuesday. Father Rainer Maria Schiessler's customers in the beer tents are unaware of his true identity, as he wears no priestly vestments, and refer to him simply as Rainer, the name shown on his badge. Highland Brewing bottles Imperial Kashmir IPA (Sept. 21) - North Carolina - Highland only produced 240 12-bottle cases of Imperial Kashmir, less than expected, company founder Oscar Wong reported this afternoon. Lehigh Valley Brewfest - Allentown, PA Beer from more than 15 regional breweries. More details will be posted on the festival website. Maryland Microbrewery Festival - Westminster, MD - September 29 Historic venue; beer from Maryland microbreweries; food vendors; continuous live music and entertainment; craft and merchandise vendors; beer seminars; event is sanctioned by the State of Maryland. Ocktoberfest - Paso Robles, CA- September 29 Firestone Walker beers, featuring special Oktoberfest beer; traditional German foods; live polka and reggae music; "Beer Olympics"; homebrew demonstration, cheese sampling, cigars, and costume contest; proceeds benefit the Hospice of San Luis Obispo County.
