Featured Beer of the Week
| Sometimes less is more, yet few American brewers have mastered European-style subtlety. At Brooklyn Brewery, Garret Oliver has definitely got the touch, a specialist at combining the best of both the old and new worlds. This seasonal, malty amber lager is made following a classic German recipe named for the autumn beer festival Oktoberfest. Clearly designed as a foil for food, the beer’s copper hue hints at caramelized flavors to come, reminiscent of whole wheat toast and apple brown betty. Subliminal malt sweetness, a delicate tang and a judicious hand with hop bitterness round out a beer that’s easy to drink and finishes clean.
