Featured Beer of the Week

| August Schell's Doppel Bock - The Doppel Bock style of beer ranges from the round to the profound to the enveloping. In describing Bock beer, the term "single" Bock is never used. Just Bock. Nor is a Double Bock twice as strong. "Double" Bock is a very unGerman exaggeration. "Super Bock" might be a bit more accurate. Clearly, when this style was first developed, the idea was to exceed what had previously been the strongest type of beer. Made with a blend of five different specialty malts and three distinct hop varieties, August Schell Doppel Bock is lagered for a full 12 weeks. The result is a beer that exhibits an uncommon smoothness that only time and monk-like patience can produce. |
