Blackwater's beers are brewed on our premise in our custom made, three
barrel brewing system by our resident brewer Debra Sampson who is also our
Director of Operations. Debra has won several awards for her handcrafted
beer recipes, all six beers are an absolute delight to beer connoisseurs and
just plain beer drinkers alike. Our facility is also hand crafted, in that,
Terry, Debra and other staff helped design and custom build our furniture
and bar. For your comfort we provide a cozy dining room; warm pub area with
booths, high tables with bar stool seating, and bar seating. We recently
expanded and have a large space that can be used for parties.

Originally from Elkins and Helvetia, we were raised on easy drinking beers
and homemade wine. Curiosity eventually got the best of us, and we combined
the two - our first batch of homebrew was conceived in the early 90's with
home brewing equipment, books, and some ingredients handed down from our
parent's home brewing days in the 70's. Since then we've learned a lot about
brewing professionally. We developed easy drinking and well rounded beers
with our own state of the art brewing equipment. We sold our first beer in
October 2005 and now we’re distributing throughout the Canaan Valley, Davis,
Thomas, Elkins, Morgantown and Fayetteville.

It all began with a simple
revelation: West Virginia needed, and more importantly deserved, a brewery
that could provide great beer to all West Virginians. There were already a
few pubs around making beer, yet not a single brewery dedicated to simply
producing beer in bottles and kegs for the entire state to enjoy. In 2007 we
did just that. Mountaineeer Brewing Company was born in Martinsburg, West
Virginia with that single goal in mind. We developed a diverse portfolio of
beer styles to offer, and on New Year’s Eve 2007 we brewed the very first
batch of Mountaineer beer. Beginning with just one brewer and a lot of help
from the founders of the company, we now employ a full staff to keep up with
the demand for Mountaineeer beer.
