Beer production in 2004 was 178 barrels and grew to 2000 barrels in 2008. The
first years were nothing short of a struggle. In fact it would have appeared to
not be able to re-open after the winter of 2005. All the beer was going sour,
due to lack of attention to the brew house and with little financial resources
to get the right tools for the right job, doom seemed imminent. The pub
operation required attention, and so did the deli and the office. There was
simply too much for any one person to do well. Fortunately with the
encouragement and strategic planning from friends and industry colleagues they
pulled through. Beer was borrowed from other breweries to pick up the slack,
which helped sales and bought time to get new beers brewed.

Fletcher Street Brewing Company draws from the pioneering spirit of past
generations. The founders of Fletcher Street Brewing Company worked at Fletcher
Paper Company, as did their fathers. Located on the northern banks of the
Thunder Bay River, Fletcher Street Brewing Company overlooks the site of the old
paper mill. Here, we embrace the enthusiasm of the past by preserving its
traditions. Fletcher Street Brewing Company strives to carry the legacy of
yesterday into the future. Five percent of all profits from the sale of Fletcher
Street Brewing Company products will be given to local charities. Children
associated charities will only receive contributions from our non-alcoholic
beverages like RipSaw Root Beer.

Arcadia Brewing Company was established in 1996 as a microbrewery specializing
in handcrafted British-style ales. All of our beers are produced in small
batches, and our 25 Barrel Peter Austin Brewery and methods originated in
England, which allows this style of beer to reflect over 250 years of world
class brewing heritage. In addition to brewing on authentic British equipment,
Arcadia uses only the finest malted barley from England, and when combined with
the freshest hops from the Pacific Northwest of our United States, and our
legendary Ringwood yeast, the result is some of the best and freshest

Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales is a microbrewery in Dexter, Michigan founded by Ron
Jeffries in 2004. It operates two pubs in Ann Arbor and Traverse City, Michigan.
Jolly Pumpkin produces a variety of unfiltered and unpasturized "rustic country
beers". Jolly Pumpkin ages their beers in wine barrels which contain
naturally-occurring microbiological cultures including brettanomyces. These
cultures produce a complex flavor profile in their beers, which includes flavors
described as leathery, earthy, wild, funky, or even "sweaty horse hair
character", and which may approximate how some beer tasted before the advent of
pasteurization and industrialization. This style of beer has been described as
"farmhouse ale", or American wild ale.

28,000 square foot building is an exciting destination for food lovers and beer

Larry Bell founded Kalamazoo Brewing Company in 1983 as a home-brewing supply
shop. In 1985, it began to sell its own beer, producing 135 barrels in its first
year. These first batches of beer were brewed in a 15 gallon soup kettle and
fermented in open fermenters covered with Saran Wrap. The brewery today consists
of two separate brewing facilities, the original Kalamazoo Avenue facility, and
the state-of-the-art Krum Avenue Plant, in Comstock Township, Michigan, which
opened in 2002. The Kalamazoo Avenue brewery contains an attached pub—Bell's
Eccentric Cafe—and a store which sells Bell's beer and apparel, as well as
homebrewing supplies. Former Bell's brewer Tom "Elvis" Fuller now owns the
formerly Bell-owned Old Hat Brewery in Lawton, Michigan. As of 2005, Kalamazoo
Brewing Company changed their name to Bell's Brewery, Inc., reflecting the name
by which most people refer to the brewery.
