Point Oktoberfest brewed in Stevens Point, Wisconsin

Point Oktoberfest brewed by Stevens Point Brewery - Stevens Point, WI

Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Craft brewed using Hallertauer Hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts results in a full flavored, finely balanced beer brewed in celebration of this Oktoberfest season.

Beer Review from Beer Advocate
Appearance - Dark golden but not quite amber in color. Perfect clarity. Small white head recedes to a small ring around the glass. No lacing.

Aroma - Light base/biscuit malt. The most mild of all munich malts. Hint of fruity/lemony aroma.

Taste - Pleasant grassy hops enter as early as malt does here, a perfect dance of balance. Malt has a great backbone of toastiness that sits in back and gradually gives way to more and more noble hop flavor within. Finish leaves me with modest bitterness, which is assertive enough to dry and quench, drawing me in for another sip.

Mouthfeel - Medium-light body, medium-light carbonation, mild sweetness yet drying making this all the more drinkable.

Overall - The only unusual aspect of this beer for me was the citrusy aroma I experienced. A great oktoberfest otherwise all around. Plenty of character yet not a palate crusher, one to please you through the entirety of festival days.

Steven Point Brewery History
The Stevens Point Brewery is steeped in a history that has transcended the trials of the Civil War, the Great Depression and Prohibition. More than 150 years later, the Stevens Point Brewery continues to successfully brew quality beer, just as the brewery’s founders, Frank Wahle and George Ruder, did in 1857. This undeniable endurance is a testament of why the Stevens Point Brewery, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, is the 5th oldest continuously operating brewery remaining in the United States. Today, the Stevens Point Brewery is proud to be Wisconsin-owned and independently operated.
