Laughing Skull brewed
by Red Brick Brewing Company - Atlanta, GA
Like a
zombie that just won't die, one of the South's favorite craft beers
is back. This newly reincarnated version of Laughing Skull is a full
flavored Amber Ale with a crisp, clean finish that's sure to clear
out the cobwebs. So crack open a Skull! You'll be glad you did. The
brew is a collaborative effort of The Vortex and Red Brick Brewing
Company. The Vortex, a pub in Little 5 points is the home of great
hamburgers and a great beer selection.
Review from Beer Advocate
Pours a beautiful clear amber with a thick, yellowish, light tan
head that sticks around - very appealing for any beer, and superior
to nearly all amber ales. Aroma is crisp and malty with fruity and
hoppy underpinnings. Pleasing flavor is mainly malty and has hints
of fruit - mainly apple - and hops, with just a touch of bitterness.
Texture is quite fizzy and lively. This is one of the best amber
ales I’ve ever had. I have downed this before, but didn’t realize
how good it is - maybe because previously I’ve had it only from a
bottle.
Red Brick Brewing Company
Although Red Brick Brewing Company (ABC) was formed in 1993, it had
fallen on hard times. A new management team led by Robert Budd,
President, was brought in along with some new investment about the
beginning of 2006. As the company was moved to a new location in
2007, the future began to brighten. New management including Richard
Fowler (Sales), Anthony Rodriguez (Retail), and Robert Fabbrini
(Operations), were brought in to join veteran Brewmaster, Dave
McClure, in growing the company. 2007 began the journey of Regional,
National, and World championship medals won by the Red Brick core
brands of Blonde, Brown, Pale, and Porter as well as seasonal and
specialty offerings.
We are proud of our Southern roots, the heritage of great Southern
beer, and our position as the oldest craft brewery in Georgia.
Although we have recently expanded to the adjoining Southern states,
we see no reason to expand outside the South. Bringing great local
beer to our regional market that has a 330 year brewing history is
and will remain our mission.
