Dark and
full-bodied, Mammoth Extra Stout provides a cozy blanket of warm and fuzzy
flavors, including chocolate, caramel, coffee and nut. Huge portions of pale
and specialty malts give this mammoth brew a complex palate while hops
provide well-rounded balance.
Any time of year, pair the robust flavors of Mammoth Extra Stout with
slow-roasted, caramelized meats and vegetables. Or contrast the deep dark roast
flavors of this wonderful brew with silky soups; creamy pasta dishes, cheesecake
or crème brulee; or berry fruits, compotes and sauces.

Appearance: Dark black body and a brown fluffy head. Very textured look that
poured on the thick side. The bottle art is pretty sweet too.
Smell: Syrupy milk chocolate, light oak, mild whisky barrels, and roasted coffee
textures round out the dominant aromas. Kind of a damp and dark roasted smell.
Maybe a touch milky with faint sweetness.
Taste: Huge dark roasted backbone to this beer. Smoke and char shine (especially
when warm) a bit over the richness of the roasted body. Mild wood, bitter
chocolate, and maybe a hint of booze in the finish. Small vanilla in there for
good measure. Makeup is mostly awesome dry roasted flavors, bitter chocolate
nibs, and a slight milky sweetness all packed atop roasted coffee.
Mouthfeel: A bit dry on the tongue in the aftertaste, lightly charred and
gritty. Very reminiscent of coffee with that burnt, roasted mouthfeel. With that
said, this is still a smoothly drinkable beer with a grainy/gritty base.
Overall: Fuzzy, big bodied, rich roasty notes, with lots of drinkability. The
huge roasted coffee and bitter chocolate tones make this beer delectable. Paired
nicely with truffles, helping enhance the subtle smokiness. Superb stout.
