Great American Beer Festival

The Great American Beer Festival (GABF)— October 11-13th in Denver, Colorado has been named one of the top 1,000 places to see before you die! So ...whether you have never been before or if you are a regular attendee, be sure to go this year!

This is the 26th year of the festival. The GABF began with the festival's founder and Brewers Association's president, Charlie Papazian in 1982. There were only 20 brewers at the first festival and a little over 1,000 people. This year the attendance is expected to exceed 41,000 and there will be 1,789 beers on tap from 402 breweries.

At the festival there is one of the world most prestigious beer competitions. More than 100 professional beer judges from around the world evaluate more than 2,671 beers entered by 446 U.S. breweries. Winning beers will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in 69 beer-style categories at the awards ceremony on October 13. Check out the winners list from previous years to see if your favorite beer is a medal winner!
