Full Sail LTD 04
brewed by the Full Sail Brewery - Hood River, Oregon
What do
you get when you brew an elegant limited edition lager with one
select barley? LTD 04, the single malt of beers! It's a finely
balanced single malt, single hop, beer that is pale-golden in color
and brewed with just pale malt and pleasantly hopped with just
Willamette hops. ABV 7% IBU 45
Living the Dream
LTD means Limited Edition. But around here it means something even
more: Live The Dream. We're doing something every brewer dreams of:
Concocting an ever-changing series of small batch beers, available
for a limited time only. Each new LTD Series brew will showcase an
original lager recipe, pimped out by our ace crew of libationary
wunderkinds.
LTD is dedicated to everyone who's livin' the dream whatever that
dream might be. We started Full Sail to make killer beer - goes
without saying. But more importantly, we started it to live our
dream: To seek that perfect balance between work and play, art and
commerce, friends and family. It's not always easy being
independent. In fact, it's almost never easy. But there's no other
way we'd have it. If you're living your dream, props to you. Peace.-

Appearance: Pleasing honey-gold with 1-finger of white, semi-rocky
head with decent retention and ample lacing.
Aroma: Very bready and doughy with a pretty crisp mineral-sulfur
note. Hops are lightly herbal.
Taste: The flavor is straightforward bready but with a much bigger
noble hops presence that is lightly grassy and herbal and moderately
bitter. The finish has a sharp mineral-metallic note. Alcohol is not
apparent until very long into the aftertaste, then some berry comes
through there. Altogether a very solid high ABV strong lager.
Mouthfeel: I love the substance of the mouthfeel with a more thick
feel. I think a little more prickliness in the carbonation would
help liven this up a tad, but I think the feel is very creamy.
Overall: Too bad this is a one-timer, in fact, too bad the limiter
lager series was a one-off -- I like pretty much every one of them,
and No. 4 is no exception. A substantial, bready, malty lager with a
crips sulfuring, herbal hoppy finish. Great job, Full Sail and keep
the lagers coming!
