Irene Firmat wins SBA’s District Impact Award
The Small
Business Association (SBA) of Portland recently presented Irene Firmat, Full
Sail Brewing Company’s Founder and CEO with the SBA’s District Impact Award
for her entrepreneurial spirit, leadership and positive impact on the local
community. The awards were presented at the SBA Portland’s Small Business
Week Awards Gala May 12th at the Oregon Convention Center.
Each of the winners and champions went through a detailed selection process
and should be justifiably proud of this award from the SBA. “The small
business winners and champions are an incredible group of people and I am
honored to acknowledge and celebrate them. As a small brewer, Full Sail has
provided much to their local community and reshaped the American beer
culture. Their employees’ shared equity in the Full Sail Brewing Company
creates a powerful set of stakeholders with a great sense of roots about
where they live and work. Irene and her employees understand the impact a
business has in a smaller community. We are pleased to honor the company’s
endeavors,” said Portland SBA’s Acting District Director, Robert DuCote.
“It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to recognize outstanding
individuals in their pursuit of excellence. This event celebrates the best
of the best,” added SBA Region X Administrator, Calvin Goings.
"I am very grateful the acknowledgement this award represents to all the
passion and commitment that our team at Full Sail puts in every day. I am
very proud to be a part this team. It is also very meaningful that Full
Sail, an Oregon brewery, is being recognized. It highlights the importance
of the Oregon Craft Beer industry to the Oregon economy,” said Firmat. Click
