Beer Review by Beer Advocate:
Appearance: Black, huge creamy head, easily the biggest head I've ever seen in a
beer. Some thick lacing.
Smell: Mocha chocolate aromas, sugar, some bitter coffee.
Taste: Upfront bitterness, roasty taste. More chocolate as it goes down.
Beautiful sweetness/creaminess.
Mouthfeel: Perfect carbonation, medium body. "Feels just right". Very well
balanced, full flavor.
Drinkability: Easy. Despite the 8.8% ABV, Anastasia drinks fine. Could be
sessioned/chugged! Very smooth and creamy. One of the most delicious and
balanced RIS I have tried. Too bad it is so hard to get.

Jay Wince – President/Head Brewer
Jay began homebrewing in 1995 and became seriously involved in small scale
brewing in 2002 when he started spending time in and around the commercial
breweries in nearby Columbus learning the nuances of pub brewing. Jay won
numerous awards for his beers as a homebrewer including medals in the
prestigious National Homebrew Competition in 2003 and 2005 and in 2010 reached
another milestone by receiving the Bronze Medal in the Imperial Stout category
at the Great American Beer Festival for Weasel Boy’s Anastasia Russian Imperial
Stout. Jay remains a prominent member of the central Ohio homebrewing community
and is a long time member of the American Homebrewers Association. A native of
Zanesville, Jay is excited about serving the community the first locally brewed
beer since the repeal of Prohibition! No stranger to fermentation Jay attained
the status of ‘Certified Baker’ from the American Institute of Baking in
Manhattan, Kansas and has spent over 26 years in the baking industry.
Lori Wince – Vice President/Assistant Brewer
Lori has been involved in the news media since graduating from the Ohio State
University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in English. A
native of Newark Ohio, she came to Zanesville after the couple wed and wrote for
the Times Recorder in Zanesville and appeared on two local radio stations before
taking a job with ThisWeek Newspapers in the Columbus area.
Lori became more actively involved in homebrewing in 2004 and stepped into the
assistant brewer position when Weasel Boy commenced brewing operations in July
of 2007. As a longtime member of the American Homebrewers Association, Lori has
worked many beer events, gaining knowledge about different styles of beer and
how to serve the craft beer consumer. She continues to work with local retailers
to help promote Weasel Boy products and works special promotions and events as
well.
