Spring India Pale Ale  is brewed by Abita Brewing Company - Abita Springs, Louisiana

Abita Springs, LA – The Abita Brewing Company is proud to introduce Spring I.P.A. as its newest seasonal brew. Spring India Pale Ale (I.P.A.) is a West Coast-style I.P.A. with an up-front intense hop flavor and aroma.

“We’re excited to have another I.P.A. in the Abita family,” said David Blossman, President of the Abita Brewing Company. “If you like our Jockamo, you’re going to love this big, bold Spring I.P.A. It’s a great pale ale that’s just right for this time of the year, when the weather starts to warm up again.” The brew is made with both Amarillo and Centennial hops for a rich and resinous flavor of citrus and spice.

“Spring I.P.A. amplifies the spice in any meal,” said Blossman. “It pairs well with Mexican or spicy Szechwan Chinese food. It’s great with strongly flavored cheeses too, like sharp cheddar or goat cheese.”
Abita Seasonal brews are available for a limited time and are brewed in limited quantities. Each brew is custom created to match the time of year when it is enjoyed. Spring I.P.A. makes its debut in March and replaces Red Ale in the Abita Seasonal lineup.
“Red Ale was a hoppy beer and we hope that our customers will enjoy the complex flavors and distinctive hop character of our new Spring I.P.A.,” said Blossman. Spring I.P.A. has an ABV of 6.25%, IBU of 65 and the color is 9, or brilliant gold.
Abita Brewing Company
Founded in 1986, the Abita Brewing Company is nestled in the piney woods 30 miles north of New Orleans. In its first year, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer. We had no idea what we started. Customers loved our beer! By 1994, we outgrew the original site (now our 100 seat brew pub) and moved up the road to a larger facility to keep up with demand.

We brew over 109,000 barrels of beer and 6,000 barrels of root beer in our state of the art brewing facility. Our lagers and ales are brewed in small batches, hand-crafted by a team of dedicated workers with only the highest ideals of quality. This pride, along with our brewing process, is what creates our great brews.

Abita uses only the finest ingredients – British and North American malted barley, German and American yeast strains, Pacific Northwest hops and the pure artesian water of Abita Springs.

In Abita, we are blessed with the purest of water. Drawn from our deep wells, our pristine water is not altered in any way.

Abita Beer has no preservatives, additives or stabilizers and is cold filtered. The result is beer that is the finest and freshest tasting as proven by our loyal customers and great chefs of the south who use Abita Beer in their recipes.
