  Philly Craft Beer Festival

Belgium Comes to Cooperstown - Cooperstown, NY - August 1-2
Annual celebration of Belgian culture with tours of the brewery; a five-course beer dinner with hard-to-find Belgian beers, live music, and a late-night bonfire on Friday; a tasting of more than 150 Belgian and Belgian-style beers, with live music and food for sale including Belgian waffles, a pig roast, seafood kebabs, sandwiches, and Belgian stew, many made with Ommegang beers; camping available.
  
Mammoth Festival of Beers and Bluesapalooza - Mammoth Lakes, CA - August 1-2
Beer from more than 50 microbreweries and the and the best blues performers in the country (beer and entertainment lineup TBA).
 
Beer and Bluegrass Festival - Keystone, CO - August 2
Beer from more than 30 Colorado microbreweries, served in a beer garden; down-home cooking; acoustic bluegrass music on two stages; inflatables and children's activities at "Energy Alley"; free parking and admission.
 
Brew at the Zoo–Columbia - Columbia, SC - August 2
Specialty, import, and domestic beers; rhythm and blues music by Elliott and the Untouchables; dinner buffet (tickets sold separately); festiival admission includes free entry to the zoo.

Brew Haw Haw - Los Angeles, CA - August 2
Inaugural event; an outdoor festival featuring beer from the region's best microbrewries and brewpubs; food provided by Los Angeles' restaurants; live music and merchandise auctions; event will be hosted by comedian Bill Dwyer. No tickets will be sold at the door.


Ketchikan Summer Beer Fest - Ketchikan, AK - August 2
Evening tasting session, with 40 beers from Alaska and Pacific Northwest breweries.


Monterey Beer Festival
- Monterey, CA - August 2
Beer from more than 50 breweries; live music provided by four bands; a variety of food, with the providers including the Culinary Center of Monterey (which will receive a portion of the proceeds). This festival is expected to sell out.


North Aurora Days Beer Fest
- North Aurora, IL - August 2
More than 20 beers, featuring those brewed in the Fox Valley and throughout Chicagoland; food, including bratwurst and pulled pork sandwiches from the "Wurst Kitchen"; live music.


Tail and Ale Festival
- Crystal Bay (North Lake Tahoe), NV, CA - August 2
Inaugural event; beer from 20 local and regional breweries; live music; and fried fish treats, provided by the Tahoe Biltmore; all proceeds go to charity.


WaZoo
- Tampa, FL - August 2
Sampling of beers from around the world, plus a wine garden; food from several Tampa Bay-area restaurants; a variety of live entertainment throughout the evening.


Wild Brew
- Tulsa, OK - August 2
New venue this year; beer from around the world, food from more than 25 restaurants, and live music; proceeds help restore the Bald Eagle to Oklahoma and the Southeast.


Toronto's Festival of Beer
  - Toronto, ON - August 7-10
Canada's leading beer festival, with more than 200 beers; Southern-style barbecue, live entertainment, and grilling demonstrations by TV personalities; historic setting; also, satellite events throughout the Greater Toronto Area.


Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival
- Cary, NC - August 9
More than 60 beers; over 40 bourbons, with "Bourbon College," hosted by master distillers; live music; a variety of barbecue tastes; cigar tent; a limited number of VIP tickets are available.


Blues and Brews
- Akron, OH - August 9
Beer and wine tasting; food for sale; live blues music; cooking demonstrations, with recipes available for take home; special VIP "Brewers Circle" tickets, featuring lunch, specialty brewed beers, and a VIP band, are also available.


Blues and Brews - Denver
- Denver, CO - August 9
Event, part of the Summer Fest music series, includes beer from area breweries and music by top national and local blues musicians.


Brew at the Zoo
  - Syracuse, NY - August 9
Last year's festival featured beer from 14 breweries and providers, animals on exhibit, a silent auction, and food and live music. More details of this year's festival will be posted on the zoo's website.

 - Pittsburgh, PA - August 9
Beer from more than 25 national, local, food; music provided by Here and Now.


Bronze Blues & Brews Festival
- Joseph, OR - August 9
Blues music by regional and national performers; beer from Western microbreweries (list TBA); food and souvenir vendors; camping available; festival site is within walking distance of downtown; free shuttle service to and from Wallowa Lake, Joseph, and Enterprise.


Great Taste of the Midwest
  - Madison, WI - August 9
Last year's festival featured 500 beers from more than 100 breweries and brewpubs from the Midwest; a lakeside festival venue; a celebrity brewer dunk tank; food, live entertainment, and plenty of space to spread out.


Craft Lager Festival
- Manitou Springs, CO - August 9
Bottom-fermented beer "from Hawaii to Boston"; presentation of awards for exceptional lagers; music by Grass it Up and Big Paddy; proceeds to go Pikes Peak region open spaces.


IPA Festival
- Hayward, CA
Street party with more than 50 India pale ales on tap; live music and barbecue all day.


Microfestivus
- Roanoke, VA - August 9
An expanded lineup of more than 50 beers from over 20 craft breweries from the Mid-Atlantic region; better layout and more facilities for this year's event.


Millvale Brew Festival
- Millvale, PA - August 9
Scenic location with great views; two tasting sessions, featuring craft-brewed and specialty import beers from about 35 breweries; local food, including vegan and vegetarian options; live entertainment; proceeds will help in the recovery of Millvale, which was devastated by Hurricane Ivan in 2004.


North Fork Craft Beer, BBQ and Wine Festival
  - Jamesport, NY - August 9
VIP and general admission tasting sessions; more than 120 beers from over 50 breweries and providers, including many from New York State; wines from Martha Clare Vineyards; food, featuring gourmet barbecue; special vendors and cooking demonstrations; live music; talks given by brew masters and industry leaders.


Royal Wine and BrewHAHAl
- Kansas City, MO - August 9
 Inaugural event; a tasting of locally-distributed beers and wines.


Taste of Grand County
- Winter Park, CO - August 9
Beer and wine sampling, food tasting, silent auction, and live entertainment.


Beer & Baseball: Beer 101
- Asheville, NC - August 15
Beer sampling plus an opportunity to learn about beer styles, how beer is brewed, and how to choose proper glassware; admission includes hors d’oeuvres and admission to the ballgame.


Bend Brewfest
- Bend, OR - August 15-16
Fifth annual event; more than 60 beers from over 30 area breweries; food, wine, and spirits, a variety of local bands; free admission, families welcome.


Brews, Brats and Bands 2008
- Stevens Point, WI - August 15-16
wo-day event featuring live music, Johnsonville Brats, and Stevens Point Brewery products. Brews; family events, including a children's carnival; silent auction; free admission.


Flour City Brewers' Fest
- Rochester, NY - August 15
Beer from more than 20 local and national craft brewers and distributors; food and live bands; festival is sanctioned by the New York State Brewers Association.


BrewExpo
- State College, PA - August 16
Two tasting sessions, plus special connoisseur session (new this year); more than 150 beers from 60 microbreweries; gourmet international buffet; People’s Choice competition, Brewzeum exhibits and BrewForum interactive tasting seminars; special guests, including John Hansell "The Malt Advocate," Michael Goldfine, and "The Beer Geeks" Mark Dellinger and Jeff Metzler.


Brews, Jazz & Funk Fest
- Squaw Valley, CA - August 16-17
Beer from local and international breweries; free live music by some of the most-recognized jazz and funk performers; children's activities, including bungee trampolines, miniature golf, a climbing wall, and a ropes course.


Halifax Seaport Beerfest
- Halifax, NS - August 16
Two tasting sessions, with more than 100 beers, plus food vendors and sodas and water; brewmaster's dinner the evening before the festival.


Lighthouse Brewfest
- Lincoln City, OR - August 16
 "A quirky and noncompetitive exposition" featuring beer from various McMenamin's breweries, each of which will also design a tiny image to represent its particular brew.


Mid-Michigan Beer Festival
- Bay City, MI - August 16
Third annual event, featuring more than 100 beers as well as food and live music.


Russian River Beer Revival and BBQ Cookoff
- Guerneville, CA - August 16
Festival is held on the banks of the Russian River; beer from more than 25 breweries, plus ciders; barbecue from 25 teams; shuttle bus available from Santa Rosa.


Southwest Indiana Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival
- Evansville, IN - August 16
First American festival to showcase wine and spirits as well as beer; more than 70 beers from 23 breweries from Indiana and other states; more than 100 wines; bourbons and whiskies; food, and music by 40s band "Better Than Nothing"; homebrewing exhibition and information from brewers.


The Steinley Cup Microbrew Festival and Competition
- Saratoga, WY - August 16
Event is Wyoming's official microbrewery competition, with the Steinley Cup awarded to the winner; family-friendly event, with food and live music; "Taste of the West," featuring the area's best chili cooks, and the Saratoga Bullfest, a bull riders-only event, are held on the same weekend.


Stone 12th Anniversary Celebration and International Beer Festival
- San Marcos, CA - August 16
New venue this year, with park-like campus setting; two tasting sessions, with more than 30 hand-picked guest breweries (and more TBA to be announced on the festival website); food vendors; hair-dying fund-raiser.
 
Reading Phillies Beer Tasting Festival
- Reading, PA - August 19
Pre-game sampling of imported and domestic beer provided by All-Star Distributing; all-you-can-eat buffet featuring barbecue chicken and hot dogs; access to the heated pool.


Brew at the Zoo
- Washington, DC - August 21
Beer from more than 20 microbreweries, hors d’oeuvres from more than 15 and area restaurants, animal demonstrations, live music provided by Wait til Friday; proceeds support animal care, conservation science, education and sustainability at the zoo; VIP tickets available.


Art and Ale
- Parker, CO - August 22
Beer and food sampling, live music, and access to the cigar lounge; festivalgoers are invited to view the museum's art galleries and interactive exhibits; hotel packages are available.


Brew at the Zoo, Columbus
- Columbus, OH - August 22
After-hours event at the zoo, with beer and food provided by the Winking Lizard beer bar; live music and prizes.  
 

Sherwood Parks Beer & Wine Festival
- Sherwood Park, AB - August 22-23
"A showcase of brewing history," hosted by brew masters and wine connoisseurs from throughout Canada; a wide variety of beer and wine to sample; cooking demonstrations, wine and beer making seminars, and wine tasting classes; live entertainment.


Toledo's German-American Festival
- Oregon, OH - August 22-24
Authentic German beer and food, with more than 23 different beers; outdoor beer and wine garden; continuous live music on three stages; large wooden dance floor; opening ceremony and parade on Friday; German-language worship service on Sunday; soccer exhibition games; family and children's activities.
 

Blues 'n' Brews Festival  - Westford, MA - August 23
More than 80 beers, including cask-conditioned ales, from 40 breweries; live blues music; prizes, including an autographed guitar; games and demonstrations; craft and vendor booths.


Brew at the Zoo, Louisville
- Louisville, KY - August 23
Fifth annual event; beer from 20 local and regional breweries, with non-alcoholic choices available; food provided by more than 30 local restaurants and vendors; live entertainment; "Parrot Dice Casino" and fantasy raffle packages; festival ticket includes admission to the zoo.


Buffalo Brewfest
- Buffalo, NY - August 23
New venue this year; more than 100 beers; a selection of food from several local restaurants. More details about this year's event will be posted on the festival website.


German Bierfest, Atlanta
- Atlanta, GA - August 23
More than 30 German beers; authentic German food, along with food provided by local vendors; live music and DJ; kid's zone; prize raffle; free admission to children and designated drivers.

Great Eastern Invitational Microbrewery Festival
  - Adamstown, PA - August 23
Two tasting sessions, with more than 50 microbrewed beers from around the country; Ed Stoudt's "Best of the Wurst" German-style buffet; live entertainment; complimentary shuttle service from local motels.


Hops in Humboldt
-  Fortuna, CA - August 23
Beer from about 30 area breweries (more to be confirmed; see festival websie for update); an ecclectic music line-up, arts and crafts, and food.


Oak Park Micro Brew and Food Review
- Oak Park, IL - August 23
Fifty craft beers from 15 local microbreweries from across Illinois; organic food from Oak Park restaurants and local farmers; roving musicians; pre-event VIP celebration at the new "green" Marion Street Cheese Market, with a craft brew and cheese tasting and a welcome from Pete Crowley, president of the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild.


Sierra Brewfest
  - Grass Valley, CA - August 23
Outdoor venue, underneath tall Ponderosa pine trees; more than 100 beers from over 35 area microbreweries; wine and non-alcoholic beverages; live music by the Cold Shot Band; food, including sausages, barbecue, and Mexican food.


Southern Brewers Festival
- Chattanooga, TN - August 23
Beer from Southern breweries, food from local restaurants, live music; event benefits Chattanooga Kids on the Block.


Summertime Brews Festival
- Greensboro, NC - August 23
Expanded lineup of more than 160 beers from all over the world. This festival is expected to sell out at the door.


Tribury Beer Festival
- Southbury, CT - August 23

AleFest Dayton
  - Dayton, OH - August 25
More than 250 beers from over 100 breweries, with a special Ohio craft brewery section; food and live music; breweriana and beer wearables on sale; silent auction and raffle; Dogfish Head’s "Randall The Enamel Animal."


Berea Labor Day Oktoberfest
- Berea, OH - August 29 - Sept 1
Four days of authentic German beer and food; local and regional musicans and German dance groups; a variety of events, including wiener dog races, a celebrity keg tapping, sand sculptures, marionettes, and a 5K run.

 

Mystery Beer Weekend - Philadelphia, PA - August 29-31
Thirty-three "mystery beers," three examples each of 11 different styles, will be tapped; the festival-goer who correctly identifies the most beers will win a beer-filled prize package.


La Fete Bieres et Saveurs
  - Montreal, QC - August 29 - Sept 1
Venue is a national historic site on the banks of the Richelieu River; festival features microbrewed beers as well as wine, cider, cheese, and other Quebec products; entertainment, including acrobats, musicians, magicians, and jugglers.


Savannah Craft Brew Fest
- Savannah, GA - August 29-30
Inaugural event; Friday evening beer and food pairing dinner focusing on Georgia craft-brewed beer, with proceeds benefitting Senior Citizens, Inc.; grand tasting on Saturday on the Esplanade, with beer from more than 20 breweries and live musical performances; Saturday evening fixed-price food and beer pairing dinners at various local restaurants.


Blue Ox Beer Festival
- Fort Bragg, CA - August 30
More than 20 microbrewed beers; live music, barbecue, and bocce ball; the festival is part of Fort Bragg's Paul Bunyan Days.


Cannstatter's 136th Volksfest (Oktoberfest)
- Philadelphia, PA - August 30-31
Annual Labor Day festival, with authentic Oktoberfest atmosphere; German beer, wine, and food; entertainment, including live music, singing and dancing; Altweibermuehle, the "True Fountain of Youth"; and rides and games.


Hayward Rib & Brew Fest
- Hayward, WI - August 30
More than 40 microbrewed beers, plus local, domestic and international wines; beer festival is held in conjunction with a rib competition and festival featuring a raffle, door prizes, live entertainment, and children's games.


Hop Madness!

A celebration of hops and their role in brewing; fresh hops and water will be provided to brewers (bring your own equipment) for making harvest ale; a tour of an active hop harvest at a local farm (please bring one homebrew or commercial beer for the hop farmers); homebrew contest; overnight camping available.
