Bramwell Oktoberfest - Bramwell, WV - October 6 Bramwell Cup microbrew competition, with jury headed by author and beer traveler Owen Ogletree; craft beer and fine food sampling, tours of coal barons' mansions, live music. Clayton Oktoberfest - Clayton, CA - October 6-7 Oktoberfest "Munich Style" under Mt. Diablo, with German beer and food and a traditional biergarten, continuous live music, carnival, street performers, California wine, and arts and crafts show.
Fresh Hop Ale Festival - Yakima, WA - October 6 Fifth annual event; beer from 12 microbreweries, all of which are brewed with local Yakima hops used within 24 hours of being picked; live music and local food and wine. Germantown Oktoberfest - Germantown, MD - October 6 Twenty-fifth anniversary; Oktoberfest biergarten, live music, games for children, exhibits by local crafters and businesses, fireworks display.
Hood River Hops Fest - Downtown Hood River, OR - October 6 Beer from 30 breweries and wine from eight wineries, food and live music.
Kennett Brewfest - Downtown Kennett Square, PA - October 6 Beer from more than 40 regional microbreweries, with food available; special connoisseur tasting, featuring single tastings of rare beers.
Newport International Oktoberfest - Newport, RI - October 6 Authentic German Oktoberfest with Bavarian music and other entertainment, German food and American cuisine, Biergarten and Weingarten, shopping marketplace, amusement rides, and special area for children.
Quivey's Grove Beer Fest - Madison, WI - October 6 More than 70 beers from 30 breweries; music by Westside Andy and the Mel Ford Blues band; a portion of the proceeds benefits the West Madison Jaycees and a local charity.
World Beer Festival - Durham, NC - October 6 Two tasting sessions, with beer from more than 150 world-class breweries, live entertainment, food from local restaurants, and children's activities and nonalcoholic beverages.
Acadia's Oktoberfest and Food Festival - Southwest Harbor, ME - October 7 Beer from 23 Maine breweries, with brewmasters in attendance; local wine; music and other entertainment, international food court; Maine artisan's and craft booths; free shuttle bus service to town's parking areas.
Autumn Brew Review Festival - Minneapolis, MN - October 7 Beer from Midwestern breweries; live music on the sound stage. Tickets go on sale August 1.
Stoudt's Oktoberfest - Adamstown, PA - October 7, 14, 21, and 28 Last year's event featured Stoudt's beer; German music; food, including roast pig, giant pretzels, bratwurst with spiced sauerkraut, and Black Forest cake. Details of this year's Oktoberfest will be posted on the brewery's website
Great American Beer Festival - Denver, CO - October 11-13 America's largest beer festival, with more than 1,600 beers from more nearly 400 breweries on the festival floor; three regular sessions plus Saturday connoisseur session; beer competition, with nearly 500 breweries competing in 69 categories; food and beer demonstrations; live entertainment. Oktoberfest By the Bay - San Francisco, CA - October 11-14 German food and drink; music, dancing, and singing; special offers available on the festival website.
Brewfest - Green Bay, WI - October 11-13 A wide variety of beer from Wisconsin and surrounding states; food and local wine; silent auction.
Lancaster Oktoberfest - Lancaster, TX - October 12-13 Traditional German beer, featuring "MKT Marzen," brewed by Charlie Walker of the North Texas Home Brewers Association; German food and wine; appearance by famed potter and clay sculptor Randy Brodnax; Chicken Dance every hour; live music, dancing, and arts and crafts.
Dells on Tap - Wisconsin Dells, WI - October 13 Beer from more than 25 Wisconsin microbreweries; event is part of the Wisconsin Dells Harvest Fest.
Knoxville Brewers' Jam - Knoxville, TN - October 13 Beer from more than 30 American craft brewers; food and live music.
MS After Dark Beer Tasting - Providence, RI - October 17 More than 200 beers; appetizers; raffle and silent auction; appearance by WHJJ host Bruce Newbury.
Tulsa Oktoberfest - Tulsa, OK - October 18-21 Bands from Germany and Austria, 20 food locations, activities for kids and families, carnival rides, variety of entertainment and special events.
Wilmington Oktoberfest - Wilmington, NC - October 19-20 Two-day event which includes imported German beer, authentic Bavarian cuisine, a 15-piece oom-pah band, and dancing; children's activities, featuring character meet-and-greet. KC Beer Festival - Kansas City, KS - October 20 Inaugural event; dozens of craft and import beers, with some brewers in attendance; food and live entertainment.
Lighthouse Beer Festival - Wilmington, NC - October 20 Beer from more than 45 international breweries; food and live music; shuttle service is available. Buy tickets early. This event sells out.
Maryland Brewer's Oktoberfest - Timonium, MD - October 20 Beer gardens serving Maryland microbrewed beer, German food and oompah bands, contemporary entertainment; homebrew contest, beauty pageant and other competitions, arts and crafts.
