My favorite Irish Pub was called the County Cork in Atlanta. It once sold more Guiness than any bar in the country. Unfortunately, it closed several years ago.

I had lots of good time at the Black Rose in Boston. But stay away on St. Patrick's Day. Way to crowded!

Paddy Reillys is great, but has the same St. Patrick's problem...it's when all the tourists feel the need to be Irish. That place has great bar food.

I'll have to check out the Black Rose next time I'm in Boston.

Public houses in Ireland, usually known as pubs, are establishments licensed to serve alcoholic drinks for consumption on the premises. Irish pubs are known for their atmosphere or "craic".

Pub is a drinking establishment licensed to serve alcoholic drinks for consumption on or off the premises in countries and regions of British influence. Although the terms often have different connotations, there is little definitive difference between pubs, bars, inns, taverns and lounges where alcohol is served commercially.
